Where To Travel in Kenya this September
September is an excellent month to catch the travel bug. This month is warmer than the months of July and August here in Kenya. It is also the last ‘off-season month’ for booking hotels in Kenya at reasonable rates, and the best thing about the month of September is that you won’t face huge crowds at various sightseeing places.
Here are our 3 favorite destinations to visit this September.
Samburu National Reserve
This magical reserve covers an area of 165 Km² and it is located in Samburu, Rift Valley about 345Km from Nairobi. This reserve is an excellent option if you’ve been to Kenya before or are looking for more of an off-the-beaten-path destination that still has plenty of creature comforts.
Where to stay: Samburu Elephant Lodge
The reserve has some of the most spectacular accommodation in the region but we would prefer Samburu Elephant Lodge which is a privately owned 16-bed lodge. It is situated along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro river comprising 4 single villas and 6 Family villas.
Laikipia
Laikipia is a beautiful destination to visit in the month of September. Laikipia consists mostly of privately-owned ranches which have been combined by local communities to form vast conservancies; here you’ll find free ranging wildlife including lions, rhinos, leopards and elephants.
Where to stay: Lewaso Cottages
Lewaso is undoubtedly one of the star attractions at Loisaba Conservancy in Laikipia and with good reason. This amazing lodge consists of seven cottages which are kept simple and stylish, with certainly no compromise on comfort and quality.
Masai Mara
